CHA Responsibilities

  • Pay property owner in a timely manner.
  • Regularly evaluate family eligibility.
  • Inspect units at least once annually.
  • Investigate potential fraud or program abuse by tenants or landlords.
  • Provide quality customer service to HCV landlords and tenants.
  • Notify landlord of any change in subsidy amount.
  • Maintains waitlists, conducts criminal background checks, reviews applications for the HCV Program, certifies program eligibility and determines continued eligibility.
  • Explains and provides information about program policies and procedures to current and prospective landlords and families.
  • Monitors program performance and compliance of participants and owners.
