Work Orders

Requests for maintenance for public housing units and property should be placed by calling (573) 443-2233.  Columbia Housing Authority (CHA) staff members are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to process requests for repair or assistance.

SMOKE DETECTORS

Smoke detectors will save your life! If a battery dies or a smoke detector malfunctions, please notify Maintenance immediately. Maintenace staff provide same-day service for smoke detector problems - and it's free.

  • Tampering with smoke detectors is like gambling with your life. Do not try to fix or disconnect it yourself. Tampering carries heavy fines!
  • First offense: $50 charge
  • Second offense: LEASE TERMINATION

EMERGENCY SERVICE REQUESTS

CHA maintenance staff is also on call and available for emergency requests for service during non-business hours by calling the same phone number.  After hours, emergency calls include:

• No heat
• Clogged toilet
• No hot water
• Flooding
• Smell of gas
• Malfunctioning smoke detectors
• Resident locked out of his/her apartment (when CHA safety staff is not on duty)
