The personal safety of the residents and their guests in and around the Columbia Housing Authority’s (CHA’s) neigbhorhoods is of the utmost importance. Typically, CHA safety officers are on duty daily from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. CHA Safety Staff can be reached by calling (573) 449-1991.
In addition, in partnership with the Columbia Police Department, CHA also provides space for two Police Substations.
Community policing by safety officers and police officers has reduced crime and improved public safety, while encouraging citizen responsibility for community safety and quality of life. Having a high visibility safety and law enforcement presence in CHA’s neighborhoods allows closer interaction between residents and officers, and helps promote trust and confidence within the community.
