CHA Public Housing Wait List Closing March 1, 2015

This spring, rehabilitation begins on the homes in the Stewart Parker neighborhood. The 84 units along Unity and Lincoln Drives, Oak and Worley Streets and Hicks Drive will be stripped down to walls and roofs and totally rehabilitated. While the construction is underway, residents will be relocated to other public housing units within CHA. In order to have enough units to meet the needs of the relocating residents, CHA is closing its public housing wait list effective March 1, 2015. No new applications will be taken until the list reopens. Applicants already on the list will retain their places on the lists and will continue to be housed if units become available. The rehabilitation is expected to take about 15 months. The reopening of the public housing wait lists and the new wait lists for the renovated neighborhoods will be announced on this Web site and in the Columbia Daily Tribune and Columbia Missourian.
