DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Columbia Housing Authority, Resident Services Department
REPORTS TO: Coordinator of CHA’s Moving Ahead Program
HOURLY RATE: $9-10:00

APPLICATION DEADLINE: ASAP
STARTING DATE: ASAP
POSITION SUMMARY: Requires 15-20 hours per week during school year. Work with school aged children living in and around Columbia Housing Authority at the Moving Ahead Program, an academic-based afterschool and summer program for children in grades K – 12. Supervise program elements including homework, computer lab, active play, social skills, and enrichment using innovative curriculum and equipment. Act as tutor and mentor for children. Supervise volunteer tutors. Help families support success at school. Provide safe transportation from school to program and home.

HOURS: Between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday July 10 – August 2; 2:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday when school is in session.

PARTIAL LISTING OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum high school diploma or GED.
Experience working with 5 – 14 year olds. Prefer experience working with at-risk students, some experience or college level courses in elementary education and/or child development. Requires drug testing, TB test, physical and finger print check.
