The Columbia Housing Authority's (CHA's) Board of Commissioners -- appointed by the Mayor of the City of Columbia -- adopts policies for operations, approves new programs, adopts budgets, and hires the Chief Executive Officer.

The Mayor appoints five Commissioners to serve staggered four-year terms.

The current Board of Commissioners is composed of the following members:

  • Marvin Kinney - Chairperson: Served from 1968-1971; Reappointed May 1990
  • Genie Rogers - Vice Chairperson: Appointed May 1990
  • Max Lewis - Appointed May 2008 
  • Mary Anne McCollum - Appointed May 1997
  • Edward Robinson - Appointed January 2008 

The CHA Board of Commissioners generally meets the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in CHA’s Administration Building, which is located at 201 Switzler Street.

Public Comment Requested on FY2009 Budget Annual PHA Plan

The Columbia Housing Authority Board of Commissioners is requesting public comment on the following FY2009 Public Housing Authority (PHA) planning documents:

These annual planning documents are also available for public review and comment at the CHA Administration Building, 201 Switzler Street.  Written public comments may be submitted to this address or online to CHA@columbiaha.com .

The CHA Board of Commissioners will also receive public comment at their regular meetings on May 20 and June 17 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the CHA Administration Building.
